The good, the bad, and the magnificent

As we welcome spring and bed into a new tax year, there’s a lot to be optimistic about. As well as the longer and milder days, inflation is the lowest it’s been for two years, interest rates are holding steady, and investment markets are performing well.

With the likelihood that there’ll be a General Election by the end of the year and a possible switch in government, there’s still a fair amount of uncertainty about what’s to come. You could say it’s a bit of a Wild West out there, but after the last few years, we’re all used to that!

Here, we take a closer look at some of the changes brought in by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt’s Spring Budget in March and wrap up with an overview of markets. (Apologies to any die-hard western film fans for playing fast and loose with titles!)
